Dr Melanie Walker is an experienced Melbourne Breast Surgeon consulting in Frankston and Richmond. Dr Walker has been a consultant in practice for over 15 years, she also has public appointments at The Alfred, Monash Health and BreastScreen Victoria.

Dr Walker graduated from Monash University in 1994 and trained in general surgery at the Alfred Hospital, obtaining her FRACS in 2002. She then undertook a further three years training in breast surgery in the UK, training at the Edinburgh Breast Unit and undertaking an Oncoplastic Fellowship year at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow, where she developed her special interest in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast ultrasound.

Since returning to Melbourne in 2005, Dr Walker has established a practice dedicated to the management of breast disease, benign and malignant.  She works within a multidisciplinary environment to provide a comprehensive model of care.

Dr Walker is highly respected amongst her peers, having been elected President of the Society of Breast Surgeons of Australia & New Zealand in 2020.
